redline redefined: willow and grist

From 2020 – 2022, I created five graphic scores for Redline Redefined, Thingamajigs’ commissioning project that catalyzes artist investigations of East Bay historic (and current) redlining.

The scores were briefly available to perform at the five sites that inspired them, if you knew to look for an unusual real estate sign, and now they are emerging as small films for various ensembles.

At this matinee launch party for Zachary James Watkins (commissioned in the second cohort of Redline Redefined artists) I’ll be showing two films: WILLOW and GRIST accompanied by affiliates of of the duo B. Experimental Band, instigated by Lisa Mezzacappa and Jason Levis and
