Couches\, pillows\, and chairs abound. DESCRIPTION:Incubated in 2018\, Playing Field: Clear started as my exchange of practices with vocalist Kattt Atchley. We started by standing inside the MilkBar\, listening to bird caught inside. We moved through our rituals of preparing the body for producing sound\, listened to the bird some more\, and began a series of open improvisations using voice\, feedback and concert bass drum. \nPart noise\, part tuning\, total wave\, we enter the playing field as part of MilkBar Salon\, the long-running performance series of experimental dance\, music\, theater and film. \nAttendance requires RSVP. We are that kind of band. \nI’m bringing everything electro-acoustic\, small and large\, sweet and savory… and thinking I might not get to it after dropping into Alex’s practice of this ancient\, whole body breathing technique. \nWe’ll start the work with the sunrise\, then open the studio to the public after sunset for a performance and discussion.
