DESCRIPTION:Mantra Plonsey has curated a music series “Identity seen through Distance\, Isolation\, and Location” inside of Randy Hussong‘s curation of More Than a Face: Portraiture\, Identity\, Alter Ego exhibiting at 120710. \nFor one Saturday in the series\, I intended to show up in a trio with Dan Plonsey and Randy Porter\, two people who made an astonishing impression on me those first weeks after I moved to Oakland and decided to wander out to see a show. \nAnd regrettably\, the performance series was cancelled. \nSo don’t expect the gamelan instruments that have found their way into my life\, and that Jurassic sampling rig that listens and pulls at the sound we find ourselves with. \nSoon.
