DESCRIPTION:Postponed! Stay tuned for a rescheduled performance date. \nBack in 2006 (!) I played in Jon Brumit‘s ensemble realizing his Vendetta Retreat score (and celebrating its release on Edgetone Records) at the Luggage Store Gallery. My memory of it was that we cleared not only the club but the block. This review confirms aspects of my recollection. \nIt’s Soon it will be time to realize the score once more with creative and non-violent alternatives to revengeful feeling. Expect a double duo of drums (self + Jacob Felix Heule) and guitars of Melne Murphy and Jas Stade\, with an electronicist Adria Otte. \nAudiences are invited to prepare by answering the following questions. DESCRIPTION:Collaborating with Lisa Mezzacappa (bass)\, Jordan Glenn (drums)\, Kathleen Quillian\, Gilbert Guerrero\, and Ellie Vanderlip (performative 16mm projection) to bring Matthew Sperry’s Treasure Mouth score to the monthly Do Over series at Shapeshifters Cinema. \nOnce described as “hackable karoake with live visuals and improvised text” this score was pulled from the journals of the late Matthew Sperry. He envisioned an ensemble of singers and musicians attempting to keep up with someone writing extemporaneously on an overhead projector. We’ve envisioned it a couple times\, and learned that serving latkes with applesauce and sour cream at the gig is very important. Expect those. \nJohn Shiurba conducts this edition\, with \n\nVal Esway\, vocals\nKarl Evangelista\, guitar\nDavid James\, guitar and vocal\nDan Plonsey\, reeds\nGino Robair\, electronics\nMaw Shein Win\, extemporaneous writer\nCory Wright\, reeds\n(and perhaps two more to be announced)
