SUMMARY:Playing Field: Clear
DESCRIPTION:Incubated in 2018\, Playing Field: Clear started as my exchange of practices with vocalist Kattt Atchley. We started by standing inside the MilkBar\, listening to bird caught inside. We moved through our rituals of preparing the body for producing sound\, listened to the bird some more\, and began a series of open improvisations using voice\, feedback and concert bass drum. \nPart noise\, part tuning\, total wave\, we enter the playing field as part of MilkBar Salon\, the long-running performance series of experimental dance\, music\, theater and film. \nAttendance requires RSVP. DESCRIPTION:Lisa Mezzacappa and Jason Levis convene a ton of us for the fourth edition of the Do Over Music Series featuring their duo B Experimental Band + Kjell Nordeson\, solo percussion. \nRobert Lopez and I will be guest percussionists\, and it’s totally reasonable to expect that concert bass drum\, those jurassic electronics\, and all of the metal and clay pots Jason and I played to create the faint textures in that New Zombies record.
