long tone choir + ritual 1 : thicket ensemble : minus two

Returning to the Subterranean ArtHouse for another long breath, this time taken with now-local composer Rae Diamond‘s Long Tone Choir.

This is also a reprise of RITUAL 1: thicket ensemble : minus one with Mateo Lugo. We convened with Katherine McDonald and Tim Kim for the first time in early 2015 to accompany the movement performance of Mari Osanai with Dana Iova-Koga and Shinichi Iova-Koga (inkBoat). Combining voice and acoustic strings with processed water and found objects in an act of empathic listening, we continued the exploration with inkBoat’s 95 RITUALS (for Anna Halprin): developing and performing a monumental set of works informed by Anna through July of this year.
